Description

CEUs: 9
Cost: $379/person (members); $479/person (non-members)

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and recommendations from the Governor of Oregon, OHCA is preparing to deliver the content of this course to registrants virtually (online). Each day will consist of self-study, online coursework, and 3-hour virtual training.

Program Expectations and Best Practices:

The OHCA Resident Care Coordinator in Community Based Care training program was created to meet the training needs for new and experienced RCCs/RCMs working in assisted living and residential care communities in Oregon. A virtual version of this program was created to meet the training needs of our members during the COVID-19 pandemic and regulations not allowing gathering in groups. This course also meets the needs of our remote attendees who are not able to travel.

This course is an 18-hour training program and features a combination of live webinar training, online learning, and reading material. Even though this program is being held virtually, please plan to spend 18-20 hours completing this program, just as you would if you attended this program in person. You may begin your reading and online learning at any time.

Daily Schedule

  • 9:00 a.m. – Noon: Pre-reading and online learning modules
  • Noon– 1:00 p.m.: BREAK
  • 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.: Live webinar instruction with daily instructor

To get the best experience from this virtual training, we recommend that you find a quiet place free from disruption. If possible, inform co-workers of your participating in this class and ask that they minimize interruptions, so that you may fully focus on your coursework.

This three-day intensive orientation to the roles and responsibilities of the resident care coordinator/manager in community-based care will benefit both new and experienced assisted living and residential care professionals. The purpose of this course is to familiarize the learner with the role of the resident care coordinator and the skills needed to perform this role. Pertinent regulations and processes will be examined. The course engages the learner in service plan development, the elements of a safe medication system, change of condition and monitoring requirements, abuse and neglect reporting, and quality improvement practices.
