Roundtable discussions and brainstorming sessions include new ideas and problem solving to enhance the resident quality of life and satisfaction within activity programs.
Building Meaningful and Effective Resident and Family Councils

Resident and family councils play a vital role in voicing concerns, supporting new residents, and strengthening community life. When thoughtfully structured and well-facilitated, councils become powerful tools for engagement, advocacy, and continuous improvement. Keeping them active, inclusive, and effective takes skill and intention.
This session will guide activity professionals through practical steps to create and sustain councils that foster collaboration, trust, and open communication. Learn how to set clear goals, encourage participation, manage challenging dynamics, and turn feedback into meaningful action that enhances quality of life and community culture. Participants will explore strategies to make councils productive, purposeful, and person-centered, while also understanding how council input can positively influence Quality Assurance and overall organizational improvement.
